He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Rooney and Clara Rooney (Kellogg); his son Mike Rooney; and his siblings, Eileen Salyer and Larry Rooney.
He is survived by: his wife Laura Wing; his sons, Philip Rooney and David Rooney; his grandsons, Mike of Charlotte and Jason Rooney of Charlotte; and his sister Margaret Rooney of Jackson.
