He was predeceased by: his parents, Asa Stanton and Alfaretta Stanton (Dingman); his wife Dorene Adeline Carey; and his siblings, Dorothy, Ruthe, Claire, Katherine of Josephine, W. J., James, Clara and Ernest.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Sowle (Steven) of Charlotte and Chris Stanton (Cindy) of Charlotte. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
