He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Mertin and Gladys Jones (Williams). He is survived by: his wife Carol Lavon Johnston; his daughters, Wendy Shelley of McKinney and Kelly Tasma (Joel) of Jenison, MI; his grandchildren, Jordin Shelley, Wyatt Shelley, Leann Tasma and Thomas Tasma; and his siblings, Ruth Thomas (Fred) of Washington, Bud Jones (Judy) of Tennessee, Nathan Jones of Walled Lake, Karen Tierney of California and Lois Jones of Troy.
