She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin A. Shepard and Ruth M. Shepard (Campbell); her husband Sam Abernathy; and her siblings, Sandra Kay Shepard, Keith Shepard, Kathy Shepard and Edwin Shepard Jr..

She is survived by: her sister Mary Fuller (Roger) of St. Johns; and her brother-in-law Jeff Jester (Sandi) of Coloma. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
