With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fern L. Burkett-Starr of Charlotte, Michigan, who passed away on January 30, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mark Berry and Alta Berry (Moore) of Bellevue, Michigan.; her husbands, Robert C. Burkett and Gerald J. Starr; her siblings, James Berry, Frank Berry (Stub), Frances Root, Helen Manning, Carol Ann Newberry, Evelyn Parker Glassner and Mable VanOrman; her daughter-in-law Elberta Burkett; her grandson Kevin Burkett; her granddaughter-in-law Angela Burkett; her great grandchildren, Evan Burkett and Liam Abbott; and her stepson-in-law Tony Southward.
She is survived by: her children, Glen Burkett of Bellevue, Helen Vedder (Gary) of Charlotte, Kenneth Burkett (Debby) of Bellevue, David Burkett (Barbara) of Bellevue, Sally Bivens (David) of Bellevue and Mary McKillop (Jeff) of Bellevue; her sister Katherine Andersen of Battle Creek; and her stepchildren, Dennis Starr (Karen) of Charlotte, Kathy Pion (Jim) of Olivet, Tim Starr (Sherry) of Charlotte, Mark Starr (Cheryl) of Charlotte, Karen Southward of Charlotte, Daniel Starr (JoAnn) of Adrian, Chris Starr (Shelly) of Charlotte, Mary Campbell (Doug) of Olivet and Jimmy Starr (Lisa) of Eaton Rapids. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
