He was predeceased by: his parents, Edson Johnston and Gladys Johnston (Leach); his wife Velma Sigourney; his daughter Sheila Johnston; his siblings, Charles, Marge Simpson (Herb) and Shirley Beagle (Carl); and his stepson Craig Furman.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Kelley (Harry) and Larry Johnston (Jane); his sisters, Iris Dietrick (Ray) and Judy Bisel (Gary); and his stepsons, Ted Furman and Greg Furman. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
