He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophrona Vossberg McDermott and Robert "Mick" McDermott. He is survived by: his wife Pauline McDermott; his children, Jody Purifoy Reeves, Cathy Griffore, Kristine Roy, Jill Austin, Patti Fuller and Lewis Wright (Butch); his siblings, Robbie McDermott, Kitty Faulkner and Betty Slade; his daughter Kelly Conway; and his sister Nancy Currier.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Charlevoix Public Library.
