It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Emory Clyde Sloan of Charlevoix, Michigan, born in Gate City, Virginia, who passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Douglas Sloan; and his sister-in-law Betty Jo Sloan. He is survived by: his wife Wendy Joan Sloan (Knudsen); his son James Sloan (Renee) of Dorr; his brother James Sloan; his grandchildren, Dylan, Aiden, Kellan, Kenley, Henry, Austin, Logan (Isabelle), Connor and Doug; his great grandchild Amy Vought (Kerry Turner-Sloan); his siblings-in-law, Peter Knudsen, Marie Yettaw (Mike) and Glenda Ferguson (John); and his close friends, Mark, Wendy Simmons, Ernie and Brenda Brasseau. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
