He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen "Dutch" and Bess Cripe (Beaty); and his wife Doris Jane Phillips. He is survived by: his children, Cathleen Carpenter of Centreville and William Cripe (Michele) of Centreville; his grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, Caitlin Carpenter, Phillip and Alexander Cripe; and his close friends, Steve and Sharon Clark.
Memorial contributions can be given in Dick's honor to the Centreville United Methodist Church.
