He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Mario Vela; his wife Jesusa Cruz Trevino; his mother Rachel Torres (Torres) of Hereford, TX; his daughters, Ninfa Margita Vela, Weslaco and Sonya Elena Puorro (Joshua); his sisters, Gloria Ann Mireles (Juan), Imelda Vela (Joshua Salas) and Rachel Christine Johnson (Craig); his grandmother Ninfa Vela of Progreso, TX; his sons, Angel Vela and Orlando Jesus Vela; and his grandparents, Crisoforo Vela, Simon Torres and Rafaela Torres.
