He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Carl Holmes Jr. (Bud) of Indianapolis, IN, Shari Baugher (Randy) of Mount Vernon and Stacy Holmes (Stefanie) of Newark, OH; his grandchildren, Tyler Holmes (Ashley), Haley Staten (Lucas), Colin Holmes (Samantha), Matt Baugher and Abbey Holmes; and his great grandchildren, Liam Holmes, Kinsleigh Holmes, Zander Holmes and Naomi Staten. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
