He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Barbara Nowak and Gus Nowak; his wife Joan Louise Fryzel; his children, Patricia Ann and Paul Franz; and his pets, Tippy, Scooter, Ginger, Webber and Camber. He was also cherished by extended family, including many nieces and nephews.
His contributions to the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council and the Charlevoix Lake Association demonstrated his dedication to preserving Michigan's natural resources.
