He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Oliver and Marie Oliver (Thompson); his wife Janet Fromwiller; and his children, John Oliver (Nancy), Mike Inman (Nikki), Gail McDowell (Owen), Kaye McPherson (Mike), Tracey Tucker, Kelly Heimforth (Jeff) and Jamie Mayer. He was also cherished by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
