He was predeceased by: his parents, Alba McKay and Amy Belle McKay (Ebenstien); his wife Linda McKay; his son Donald McKay; and his sisters, Helen Clark, Jean and Joyce McKay.
He is survived by: his sons, Rick McKay (Charlotte) of East Jordan, Rocky McKay (Jill) of Central Lake and Tim McKay (Angela) of Traverse City; his grandchildren, Charity McKinnon (Dave) of East Jordan, Kirk McKay of Sault Ste, Kyle McKay of Central Lake, Tracy Maza (Qito) of Bellaire and Lance McKay (Katrina) of Boyne City; and his great grandchildren, Caris, Macie McKinnon and Aliyah Maza.
