He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret; his child Mavric Chaney; and his sister Cheryl Johnson (Butch). He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; his children, Michael Petty, Jr., W. C. Petty (Tammy), Jim Petty (Robin) and Autumn Chaney (Kyle); and his siblings, Phil Petty (Mary Ann) and Dorene Hatfield. He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews.
