She was predeceased by: her parents, William L. Ford and Elta V. Ford (Reedy); her son Bob Jr.; her siblings, Ruby Goodman, Wilma Mancos, Marion Ford and Douglas Ford; and her brothers-in-law, Brud Lucas and Bob Hall.

She is survived by: her husband Bob Christie Sr.; her daughters, Renee Barath (Michael) of Farmington Hills, Robin Batherson (Bill) of New Orleans, Joan Sclater (Jim) of Trenton and Judy Christie of Plymouth, Michigan; her grandchildren, Rachel, Alan, Jillian, Ian, Jacob and Kali; her great grandchildren, Aiden and Klaytin; her sisters, Linda Hall of Monroe and Barbara Vereb (Joe) of Howell, Michigan; her sister-in-law Betty Lucas of Cedarville; and also Dorothy.

“Your mother was a one of a kind- every time i hear "proud mary," i think of doris! I'm heartbroken for all of you. I went by the van horn house today and i thought of all the happy memories in that house. Having both your mom and dad has been a precious blessing to you. It still is not enough time with the ones we love, i know that you will cherish all of the sweet memories you have of her. I found this (australian aboriginal proverb) and i think it is a special reminder for all of us.”
