Richard Philip Phelps Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Philip Phelps in Cedar, Michigan, born in Van Lear, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 22, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Phelps and Malta Phelps (Sammons); his wife Edith Marie Woodruff; and his great grandchild Michael Fritz. He is survived by: his children, Rick Phelps (Stephanie) of Colchester, VT, Ray Phelps (Marcie) of Adrian, MI, Kathy Krajewski (Gary) of Belleville, MI, Lisa Phelps Gonzalez of Minneapolis, MN and Heidi Aranda (Rick) of Clinton, MI; his siblings, Gary Phelps (Lou) of Tennessee and Lois; his grandchildren, Kelly Collins, Karen Fritz, Emily Phelps, Eric Phelps, Raquel Gonzalez, Celeste Gonzalez and Liam Phelps; and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Madelyn, Lila, Elise Collins, Leonard, Katie and Natalie Fritz.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes (302 Jackson St, Clinton, MI 49226). A prayer was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Dominic Church (220 Brown St, Clinton, MI 49236).
