It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter L. Nielsen of Cedar Springs, Michigan, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vern Nielsen and Lillian Nielsen (Pritchard); his wife Helen; and his siblings, Ivan, Thorval "Bo", Victor, Nina Middleton and Arlene Burns.

He is survived by: his daughter Karole DeBoer (Russell); his grandsons, Kristapher DeBoer and Nickalas DeBoer (Kristy); his great grandchildren, Kennedy and Ethan; his siblings, Eugene Nielsen (Shirley) and Karen Deyman; his sisters-in-law, Phyllis Nielsen and Sharon Nielsen; and his friend Woody Avis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
