She was predeceased by: her father Charles Neil; her husband Charles Wesley Near; her son Mark Near; and her siblings, Norma Reifsnider and Leonard Neil.
She is survived by: her children, Gloria Kling of Niles, Elaine Gouwens (John) of Culver, Indiana, Charles Arthur Near (Carla) of Cassopolis, Edwin Near (Virdeen) of Mishawaka, Paul Near of Cassopolis and John Near of Cassopolis; her grandson Jonathon Kling (Amanda) of Niles; and her stepgrandchildren, Ian Swank (Angela) of Westminster, Hilary Pratt (Dave) of Lansing, Jocelyn Dupuis (Sean) of Mishawaka, Crystal VanBruaene (Tim) of Mishawaka and Jessica Speelman of South Bend, Indiana. She is also survived by fourteen step great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
