He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Charles Merchant; his wife Marlene "Cookie" Zawerucha; his children, Daniel Merchant (Heather Pemble) of Cass City, Charles Merchant (Kristen) of Bay Village, OH and Heather Triana (Rico) of Tucson, AZ; his grandsons, Kevin Merchant (Kayla Jamieson), James Merchant, Hoyt Merchant (Kristen Bell) and John "Jack" Merchant; his great grandchildren, Brayden Merchant, Owen Merchant and Brynn Merchant; his siblings, Joyce Escilsen (Clinton), Ruth Whittaker (Gerald) and Allen Merchant; and his sister-in-law Joan Merchant. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
