He was predeceased by: his daughter Christina Valdez; his brothers, David, Joseph and Juan Valdez; and his parents, Miguel Valdez and Trinidad Valdez.
He is survived by: his spouse Lauri; his children, Leathesia Skinner (Donald), Maria Ball (late Steven), Christopher Valdez and Justin Valdez (Melissa); his grandchildren, Colin, Sylvia, Donald Jr., Michael, Isaac, Frankie, Bryce and Seth; his child Karisa Elie; and his siblings, Miguel Valdez, Jr. (late Betty), Mary Ann Kotcher (Daniel), Bernadette Barnes (James) and Viola Moran (Rudy).
