He was predeceased by: his parents, John Erla and Genevieve Erla (Kowalski); his wife Marlene Joan Strump; and his siblings, Eleanor, Florence Pijanowski, Gertrude Erla, Delphine McKillop, Richard Erla and Donald Erla.
He is survived by: his children, Joan Helwig (Craig) of Cass City, Dan Erla (Kristen) of Ada, Doug Erla (Michele) of Mishawaka, IN and Jan Zimba (Matt) of Deford; his siblings, Lorraine Klimas of Brighton, Doris Sieland (Tom) of Kennesaw, GA, Marilyn Erla of Saginaw, Chuck Erla (Agnes), Arnold Erla (Sharon) of Cass City and Clark Erla (Pat) of Florence, AZ.; and his caregivers, Heather Pemble and Lindie Vandeberghe. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren with the first great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Americans Home Health & Hospice Care, Northwood Meadows, or Our Lady Consolata Parish, Cass City.
