Dale Mellendorf Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dale Mellendorf (Cass City, Michigan), born in Elkton, Michigan, who passed away on March 18, 2020 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Mellendorf and Erma Mellendorf (Hartwick); his sisters, June Ackerman (Don) and Janet Hartz (Dan); and his sister-in-law Helen Mellendorf.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth A. "Betsy" Thorpe-Sowden; his children, Tom Mellendorf (Cindy) of Gagetown, Dan Mellendorf (Beth) of Cass City, Lona Piaskowski (Robert) of Cass City, Charlene LaBeau (Ken) of Chesterfield, Minnie Avery (Rick) of Vassar and Ray Sowden (Maureen) of Vassar; his grandchildren, Chad Mellendorf, Shane Mellendorf, Cole Mellendorf, Dalton Mellendorf, Jeff Piaskowski (Jennifer), Jacob Piaskowski, Travis LaBeau, Christopher LaBeau, Dena Kabat (Josh Smith), Alaina Poulos (Jeremy), Taylor Brown, Kennedy Brown, Kendra Dunlap (Mike), Jill Rathka (Brent) and Stephanie Leach; his siblings, Wayne Mellendorf (Bruce Mellendorf) of Cass City, Clare Mellendorf (Ruth Ann) of Cass City, Joe Mellendorf (Art Mellendorf) of Caro, Gary Mellendorf (Glen Mellendorf) of Cass City and Ruth Jaworski (John) of Owendale; and his pet Ned. He is also survived by twenty great grandchildren.
