He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Palmateer and Vina Palmateer (Spencer); his stepdaughter Debra Ahern-O'Connor; and his sisters, Leota Anthes, Mabel Francis, Alma Darby and Marian Fredrick.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce C. McInally; his children, Jim Palmateer, Carl Palmateer, Jr. (Frances), Joel Palmateer and Julie Palmateer-Brown (Robert); and his stepdaughter Pam Tyll. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
