He was predeceased by: his parents, John Peter and Jean Guster (O'Connor); and his sister Julie Langley. He is survived by: his wife Paula Kildow; his children, James (Angela) of Caseville, David Ryan (Mellissa) of Elkton, Janelle Wiederhold (Kory) of Pigeon and Taylor (Robert) of Reese; his grandchildren, Jonathon, Nathan, Makayla, Michelle, Ethan, Clarese, Kylee, Maci and Robert; his sister Linda Rhoades (Raoul) of Bad Axe; and his brother-in-law James Langley (Molly) of Caseville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
