He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Messing and Bernetta Messing (Booms); his wife Julianna Essenmacher; his daughter Alice Dobrynski; his granddaughter Veronica; his great grandchild Avery; his son-in-law Michael P. Scott; his siblings, Norman Messing, Marcus Messing (Bernice), Mildred Uhl (Walter), Sylvia Langdon, Arlene Roggenbuck and Alice; and his brother-in-law Herb Outlaw.
He is survived by: his sons, Randolph J. (Jill) and David M.; his son-in-law Gary Dobrynski; his daughters, Barbara J., Donna M. Joseph, Kathryn A. Bitzer (Neil), Laura A. Scott and Sarah E. Messing; his siblings, Daniel Messing (Diane) of Wisconsin and Elizabeth Outlaw of Garden City; and his brother-in-law Fred Roggenbuck. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorials in memory of Gordon may be made to the Michigan Right to Life Education Fund.
