He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Avery and Ruth Ann Nugent (Murray); and his brother Anthony Nugent. He is survived by: his wife Denise Nugent of Carsonville; his children, Tiffani Hurley (Stephen) of Carsonville, Anthony Nugent of Carsonville, Bradley Nugent of Carsonville and Zachary Nugent of Carsonville; his grandchildren, Johnathon Hurley of Carsonville, Carter Hurley of Carsonville and Brooklynn Hurley of Carsonville; and his siblings, Lynn Sliman (Daniel) of Sandusky and Kenneth Nugent of Carsonville.
