She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Charles Sisson and Maxine Sisson (Hall); her husband Robert "Bob" Hirons; her brother James Sisson; her sons, Robert Hirons (Octavia) of Grand Rapids and Scott Hirons (Heather) of Fredericksburg, VA; her grandchildren, Lauren, David, Joshua, Christopher, Connor, Maxwell and Heidi Lynn; and her sisters, Janet Yaw, Penny Evans and Anne Parcher. She was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS).
