He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Cody and Mary Frances Madigan (McLean); his friend Dexa "Jean" LaCost (Winters); his former wife Patricia Ann Alexander; his son Edward John Madigan; his granddaughter Marie-Claude Chabot; and his siblings, Laureen Mary Madigan, Thomas Cody Madigan and James Leo Madigan.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Harlan (Gary) of Petoskey, Mary "Karen" Madigan of Evart, Christine Rae Bables of Evart, Teri Ann Goodman of Florida, Patricia "Patty" Lynn Mercer (Jay) of Levering, Lawrence "Scot" Madigan (Karen) of Anderson, Kelly Thomas Madigan (Mary) of Pendleton and Ronald James Madigan of Pellston; his stepsons, Michael LaCost (Terry) and Patrick LaCost (Angie); his grandchildren, Erica Leahy, Michael Harlan (Christi), Justin Walker, Jessica Canals (Sergi), Jacob Madigan, Sarah Purdy, Scot Madigan Jr., Ryan Kelly Madigan (Rachelle Lupo), Nicole Lee Madigan, Rebecca Ann Madigan (Jacob Pitman), Brandy Madigan, Brett Madigan, Cody Madigan, Sean Madigan (Kendra), Courtney Madigan, McLean Mercer, Morgan Mercer, Kaitlyn Buhr (Matt), Cassie Schmidt (Dale) and Carley LaCost (Rob Parkey); and his sisters, Kathleen "Ann" Madigan of Petoskey, Mary Celine Armstrong (David) of Carp Lake and Nora Jean Madigan of Fenton, Michigan. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
