She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Marion Jr. and Ruth Preston (Steinbach); her husband Melvin; her siblings, Mary Ehgotz (Winie) and Gerald Preston (Pugh); and her stepson Melvin Bodwin Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Robert Whittecar (Suzanne) of Carp Lake, Kevin Whittecar (Angela) of Warren, Gary Whittecar (Deborah) of Riverview, Michael Whittecar (Sherri Sloan) of Wyandotte, Michigan and Denise Flick (Doug) of Sylvania, Ohio; her stepson John Bodwin (Anne); her brother Rev. Donald Preston of Riverview; her grandchildren, Robert Whittecar Jr., Heather Cline, Mark Stroud Jr., William Stroud, Tara Whittecar, Sasha Gail, Subrinia Moore, Sable Whittecar, Destinee Whittecar, Kevin Whittecar, Michael Whittecar Jr., Brittany Whittecar, Shelby Pronek and Katie Pronek; and her stepfather Jack "Pappy" Brunson. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
