He is survived by: his wife Donna Faye Held of Monroe; his children, Sheri Held-Nunn (Larry Nunn) of Monroe and Shane Held (Kristin) of Monroe; his grandchildren, Phillip John "P. J." Newkirk (Nikita), Ali Held (Tyler Duvall), Dylan Held (Emily) and Hunter Held (Natalie); and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Lorelai, Brynlee, Brodie, Macey, Hayden, Dawson and Hudson.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Merkle Funeral Service (14567 S Dixie Hwy, Monroe Charter Twp, MI 48161). The lying in state was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Monroe Full Gospel Church (5337 E Albain Rd, RAISINVL TWP, MI 48161). A celebration of life was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the Roselawn Memorial Park (13200 S Dixie Hwy, La Salle, MI 48145).
