It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene R. Derby of Carleton, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on January 17, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Derby and Frances Derby (Fowler); and his wife Mary Derby (Brooks). He is survived by: his children, Cindy Cline (Norm), Mike Derby (Roxann), Tina Strickland (Dennis), Dawn Knezevich (Steve) and Gene Derby (Tammy); his grandchildren, Angel, Chantel, Heather, Adam, Aaron, Jessica, Allison and Madison; and his great grandchildren, Kolten, Grace, Ashton, Addison, Jensen, Josie, John and Kiera.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the VFW.
