She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Michael Heaney and Bernice Heaney (Dulski); her husband Bill; her goddaughter Maureen; her children, Steve, Leslie, Bill (Kim) and Mike (Courtney); her granddaughter Abby; her sister Dolores (O'Flynn); and her brothers-in-law, Art and Bob (Penny). She was also cherished by many relatives and friends.
During the pandemic, the group serenaded a recuperating Sonia on her porch for her birthday.
