He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Irene; his brother Gerald Thomas Sommer; and his parents, Emily Catherine and John Herman Sommer. He is survived by: his children, Linda Duskey (John), Gary Sommer (Brenda), Janis Cameron and Barbara Oswald (Edwin); and his grandchildren, Gary Sommer Jr. (Kim), Christopher Sommer (Tamara), Nicholas Sommer (Theresa), Justin Sommer (Linzie), Brandon Duskey (Patty), Jason Duskey, Krystal Bottonari (Tom), Kacy Westin (Chris) and Edwin Oswald (Will). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McCabe Funeral Home (851 N Canton Center Rd, Canton, MI 48187). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
