She is survived by: her husband René Vela; her children, Bertha Vela Arribas (Emilio), René Vela Jr, Jaime Vela (Marie) and Diana Matthews (Steven); her grandchildren, Alyssa, Emilio René, Julia, Victor, Natalie, Mario and Isabella; her sibling Guadalupe Vazquez (late Tómas); and her siblings-in-law, Juileta Molina (Edgar), Nora Moreno (Hector) and Ahida Cavazos (Jesus).
