He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Shelby and Theresa Mary Harper; and his brother Gerald Harper. He is survived by: his wife Mildred "Millie" Louise Thumm; his sister Karen Sirko; his siblings-in-law, Helen Harper, Doris Durham (Don) and Elmo Thumm (Barbara); and his brother Big. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as many special friends.
