We are sad to announce that on May 15, 2020, at the age of 68, Susan Bukema (Calumet, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Donald James Bukema; her brother-in-law Gordon John; her parents-in-law, John and Margaret Bukema (Hiltenen); her parents, Robert James and Joyce Maxine Mills (Haralson); her siblings, Robert Steven (Joyce Marie Mills), William Dennis Mills, Reuben David Sauvola, Sr. and Mary Joyce (Bernhard Charles Smith); and her nephew Reuben Sauvola, Jr..
She is survived by: her grandsons, Tyler and DJ; her daughter-in-law Elisabeth; her brother-in-law Charlie; her siblings, Marsha Maxine Sauvola of Chassell, Shirley Marie Mills (Murphy Kurtz) of New Boston, Michigan, John James Mills of Wayne, Debra Lynn Mills (Bennett Soule) of Westland, Sault, Darcy Duane and Diane Lynn Mills (Nye) of Dollar Bay; and her aunt Virginia Mae Halverson (Haralson) of Ironwood, Michigan.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grands, great-grands, cousins.
Following cremation by the Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home, the family will hold a memorial service at her residence on a future date, when Covid19 restrictions enable family members to safely travel from Metropolitan Detroit, Illinois, Alaska, and Canada.
