With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Julie Claire Kangas of Calumet, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 31, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Maatta and Euphemia Maatta; her stepfather Homer Pylvainen; and her siblings, Marlene, Nancy, Tom and Ralph.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald Kangas; her stepchildren, John Kangas (Sarah), Julie Helppi (Tom) and David Bekkala (Carla); her brothers, Paul Pylvainen (Marilyn) of Plymouth, MN and Marty Pylvainen (Sandra) of Monticello, MN; and her siblings-in-law, Earl Kangas of Bakersfield, CA, Ellen Torola of Hancock, Gloria Harju (Ernie) of Houghton, Linda Kangas of Hartland, MI and Ruth Lassila of Fowlerville, MI. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
