She was predeceased by: her parents, Maxwell Hiltunen and Dorothy Hiltunen (Ruonavaara); her sons, Bobby Fontaine and Rock Gamache; her stepdaughter Wanda Gamache; and her siblings, Mavis Burns, Ruth Matson, Alan and James Hiltunen.

She is survived by: her children, Roxanne Palosaari (Jason), Jesse Fontaine (Linda) and Donna Koivu (Jim); her grandchildren, Aimee (Patric), James, Jessica, Jonathan, Brett, Synthia, Alyson and Mindy; her son-in-law Derek Gherna (Rachel); and her siblings, Richard Hiltunen (Elizabeth), Sharon Weijola (Jim Heikkinen), Henry Hiltunen (Jean), Marvin Hiltunen (Connie), Laura Heikkila (Arthur), Lars Hiltunen (Beth) and Dorothy Hiltunen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
