He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Miles Walter; his granddaughter Kelly Lynn Walter; his son-in-law Kirk Patton; his sister Judy Young; and his brothers-in-law, Terry Young and John Ellis.

He is survived by: his wife Judith A. Barnes; his daughters, Debbie Patton (Walter) and Kimberly Winters; his son-in-law Nathan Winters; his grandchildren, Seth Walter (Amanda), Joseph Winters (Breckan) and Anna Fischer (Aaron); his great grandchildren, Cameron Walter and Caleb Walter; his sister Vicki Lamb; his sister-in-law Marilyn Ellis; and his nieces and nephews, Joshua Ellis, Stephen Young, Charlene Lamb and Lynn McCombs (Lamb).
