He is survived by: his significant other Hope Veltman; his children, Vicki (Bruce Vermeer), Rick (Dawn Veltman), Kurt (Faye Veltman), Kari and Mike Van Ryn; his grandchildren, Scott, Jennifer Vermeer (Myla), Krista Vermeer, Ellie, Travis Dragstra, Ben, Emily Veltman (Jemma), Erin Veltman, Mark Veltman (Adrienne Roth), Josh Veltman, Kaden Veltman, Amelia Veltman, Margaret "Maggie" Veltman, Annika Van Ryn (Isaac Houskamp), Nate Van Ryn and Hayden Van Ryn; his siblings, Ed Hoekstra, Nelson, Judy Veltman, Jean, Rev. Charles (Bud), Diane Dalton, Nancy Moore, Mary Mileski, Judy Connor and Karen Veltman; and his sister-in-law Nancy Erffmeyer.
