He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. Bode and Mina Bode; and his granddaughter Jessica Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Hazel; his children, Julia Barnard (David), Kimberly VanHaitsma (Todd), Pamela Trowbridge, Curtis Bode (Christina), Craig Bode and Mindy Bode; his grandchildren, Joshua Phelps (Nicole), Rachel Phelps, Kate, Adam, Anna VanHaitsma, Carleigh, Cayla Trowbridge, Maria, Connor, Isaac and LeeAnn Bode; his great grandchild Harley Phelps; and his siblings, Marjorie Vedders (Frederick), Gordon Bode (Willie), Donald Bode (Sandy), Marvin Bode (Donna) and Tim Bode. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
