He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Platz and Marian Platz (Hunt); and his brothers, Ronald Platz, Wyatt Platz and Alan Platz.

He is survived by: his sons, Tony Ray-Walker Platz of Cadillac and Damion Platz of Lake City; and his siblings, Susan Green of Cadillac, Steve Platz of Cadillac and Carolyne Zatkoff (Michael) of Indiana.
