It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sarah Hoekwater of Cadillac, Michigan, who passed away on September 19, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerrit Benthem and Grace Benthem (Van Kampen); her spouse Percy Hoekwater; her son Gene Hoekwater; her son-in-law Randy Schierbeek; her siblings, Hilbert Benthem (Evelyn), Edwin Benthem (Trina), Fenna DeBoer (Raymond), Annie (Dick Winkle), Peter VanHouten, Andrew Benthem (Bernice), Frances Ellens (Stuart), Herm Dykstra and Gertrude Benthem; and her parents-in-law, Henry Hoekwater, Harold Hoekwater (Virginia), Arley Hoekwater (Helen), Clarrissa TeBos (Martin) and Mae Winkle (John).
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Hoekwater, Mary Schierbeek and Jack Hoekwater (Diane); her daughter-in-law Elaine Hoekwater; her grandchildren, Kimberly Shankland, Tara Dunn (Steve), Shannon Holmes (Brian), Kregg Schierbeek (Toni), Jon Schierbeek (Jen), Kaci Morris (Floyd), Kelly Ueland (Steve), Kristin Huttenga and Katie Clough (Brent); and her sister Nevie Dykstra. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
