He was predeceased by: his parents, John Koetje and Tillie Koetje (VanLeeuwen); his grandsons, Alex Koetje and Kyler Ruppert; and his siblings, Til Herweyer (Richard), Marge Laarman (Ivan), Jay VanSeenis, Kaye Bolema (Ed), Clarence Koetje (Eleanor), Carl Koetje (Jean) and Joan Sikkema (Jay).
He is survived by: his wife Judith Koetje of Cadillac; his children, Terry Koetje (Dorice) of Tustin and Deb Dykhouse (Mitch) of McBain; his grandchildren, Hanna Engels (Matthew), Jena Ruppert, Erin Mickelson (Thad), Jordan Koetje (Addison), Esdanna Koetje, Kylea Koetje, Carmen Koetje, Jamie Corliss (Abe), Jasey Wissner (David) and Emily Rodenbaugh (Dylan); his brother Al Koetje (Carol) of Waterford; and his parents-in-law, Ken Spoelma (Von) of Grand Rapids and Esther Spoelma. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
