He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy W. Brainerd and Fannie Brainerd (Hayter); his wife Helen J. Mongar; his son Roy W. Brainerd; his grandson Alan Harrison, Jr.; and his siblings, Lyle, Raymond, Julia, Laura, Luella, Grace and Myrle.
He is survived by: his children, Peggy Truax (Larry) of Cadillac, Ralph "Duane" Brainerd (Suzanne) of LeRoy, Patricia Price of Cadillac, Susan Harrison (Alan) of Manton, Dale Brainerd (Jamie Stickels) of Lake City, Scott Brainerd of Cadillac, Jeffery Brainerd of Cadillac and Christie Walters (Rick) of Manton; and his close friend Terri Hite. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
