He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph James and Marie Margaret Fortelka (Jurik); his wife Elaine L. Porter; his children, Lori Emerling (Sandy) of Troy, Brian Fortelka (Lorraine) of Barrington, Denise Kohout (Tim) of Stryker and Karen Foster (Brad) of Ada, Michigan; his grandchildren, Eric Ryzyi (Jamie), Kristen DeVries (Joshua), Kalina, Brianna Foster, Devon, Patrick Fortelka and Tara Alicea (Eric); his great grandchildren, Ellie, Leah Ryzyi, Dylan, Lucas, Oliver DeVries, Anthony and Jackson Alicea; his sister MaryAnn Evens of Harrietta, Michigan; his brother-in-law Leo Porter of Harrietta; his siblings, Carl Fortelka and Betty Porter; and his parents-in-law, Willard Evens, Betty Ann Paul, Keith Paul and Betty Jean Fortelka. He was also cherished by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
