He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Hatton and Jessie Hatton; and his sister Geraldine Trail. He is survived by: his spouse Barbara Wilson; his children, Paul, Jr. Hatton (Nancy), Rhonda Whitlow, Julie Wilkinson (George) and Brian Hatton (Emily); his grandchildren, Paul, III Hatton (Heather), Emily Hanks (Jesse), Melissa Whitlow (Matt), Michele Whitlow, Valerie Gleason (Steve), Eric Wilkinson (Kat) and Jamee McCannon (Alan); and his great grandchildren, Evangeline, Zoey, Josephine Gleason, Reid Hanks, Rylan Hanks, Madelyn Hatton and Marianne McCannon.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition or the Alzheimer's Association of Michigan are appreciated.
