He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Burch and Ruth Mickam, Sr. (Weiland); his brother Tom; his stepmother Margaret; his daughters-in-law, Linda Mickam (Zydor) and Shelly Mickam (Ayars); and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Fries and Marilyn Hoy.
He is survived by: his significant other Bev "BJ" Schneider; his children, Ruth Ann Smiley (Stephen) of Battle Creek, MI, Jim Mickam of Syracuse, NY, Gerald Mickam of St. Johns, FL and Nancy Simbe (Brett) of Rochester, WA.; his grandchildren, Susan Lorenc (Simon), Rob Smiley, John Mickam (Lissa), Brad Mickam (Nettie), Heather Gillette (Nicholas), Holly Mickam, Erin Mickam, Kyle Mickam (Emma), Stacy Guennoun (Simon), Nicole Woolsey (Nick) and Jamie Ball (Joe); and his sister-in-law Barbara Mickam. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
