He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Scholten and Florence Scholten (Turnblom); his sister Beverly; his brother-in-law Sam Ferrari; his son Thomas Scholten; his grandson Chad Schappa; and his parents-in-law, Marvin and Helen Devereaux.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Scholten; his children, Dr. John Scholten (Barb) of Petoskey, Catherine Stilwell (Mark) of Cadillac and Peter Scholten of Charlevoix; and his grandchildren, Dr. Courtney Phillips (Curtis), Jonathon Byrd (Jess), Daniel Byrd (Nick), Carl Scholten (Kristen), Dr. Hannah Scholten, Dr. Kellen Stilwell, Cody Stilwell, Kylee Scholten, Abbey Scholten, Megan Scholten and Claire Scholten. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and friends.
